Pick up a carton and press your thumb into the center of the 4 side panels — judge by sound + rebound + thickness feel — all 3 dimensions at once.

Type 1: E-Flute (Thinnest and Hardest)

Feel: Like hard cardboard, almost no give when pressed, rigid.

Thickness: 1.0–1.8 mm

Sound: A crisp "tock-tock" when tapped

Applications: Small cosmetic boxes, electronic product inner boxes, "outer shell" of luxury packaging boxes

Typical Case: The SK-II Facial Treatment Essence box is E-flute laminated with coated paper — feels hard in hand but can be folded into a box shape

Type 2: F-Flute (Micro Corrugated)

Feel: Thinner and more brittle than E-flute, dents with a light pinch.

Thickness: 0.6–1.0 mm

Identification Method: Look at the flute pattern — F-flute has 80–100 flutes per 30 cm, denser than E-flute

Type 3: B-Flute (Medium Thickness)

Feel: Can be pressed down 3–5 mm, medium rebound.

Thickness: 2.5–3.0 mm

Sound: A slightly muffled "thud-thud" when tapped

Applications: E-commerce outer cartons (under 5 kg), express delivery boxes, supermarket circulation boxes

Typical Case: 80% of small parcels on JD and Taobao use B-flute cartons

Type 4: C-Flute (Thickest)

Feel: Can be pressed down 5–7 mm, noticeably collapses, slow rebound.

Thickness: 3.5–4.5 mm

Applications: Heavy-duty outer cartons (home appliances, auto parts, furniture)

Identification Method: Bend a corner by hand — you'll hear a "crack" but the corner won't break off — this is the signature of C-flute

Double-Wall Corrugated: BC Flute / EB Flute (E-Commerce Mainstay)

What if single-wall corrugated is not thick enough? Glue two layers together.

BC Flute (B Flute + C Flute)

Structure: B flute (thin) + C flute (thick) laminated

Thickness: 6-7 mm (about the thickness of a one-yuan coin)
